After getting out of the homeowner game for almost 10 months, we’re finally back in it. We’re back to having debt and weekly projects, and it’s a wonderful feeling!
We are beyond excited about our new home. We can’t wait to make many memories there with our family, old friends, and new friends. Having purchased the home from the original owners (and builders), we acquired all the original blueprints, maintenance records, and even pictures of the home being built. It’s quite a well-kept place. We could tell it was very difficult for the mother and daughter to let go of a place in which they had so many memories, but I hope the knowledge of a new young family taking it over gives them some sort of peace that we will continue to love and cherish the house as much as they did.
First things first, though. We’re not moving for another 5 weeks, and there is much to do to get it ready. We know we won’t be able to do it all, so our only priorities before we move in are to have Mason and Cooper’s rooms completely done and ready for them as well as update the kitchen a bit with new appliances, countertops and floor. It is certainly not a small task, especially with all the wallpaper that we need to remove first, but we’re excited to get our hands dirty again and personalize the space. Like I’ve said before, that kind of thing is our hobby.
I am not going to inundate you with too many photos as there will be before and after posts for each room, but here is a sneak peek of what we’re getting into.
