Today ended on a high note. While Jeremy put Cooper to bed, I made the time to do an art project with Mason. She decided to make a jingle bracelet. Using a pipe cleaner, she thread beads and small bells onto it to make her bracelet. She had so much fun and was very proud of her piece of jewelry.
We worked on another art project while waiting for Daddy, and then just had fun playing in the basement. It was so fun and so easy. Usually after Cooper goes to bed, we focus on getting the dishes cleaned, helping Mason clean up toys, wrapping up leftovers… But tonight, I just put it all behind (well, I really just left the dishes for Jeremy) and focused on Mason. Taking that little bit of time to spend quality moments together meant the world to me. I realized I need to do that more often. So many nights, we get caught up in the craziness of the day and rush Mason to bed just so that we can get to our little sanctuary upstairs. But I can get almost the same relaxation and revitalization just by giggling with my kids. Definitely worth the dirty dishes and messy living room!
